Axl in happier times
After all the ‘will they’ ‘wont they’ about Guns n Roses potentially performing as the original for one night only at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction Axl Rose has pissed on the parade and ‘respectfully declined’ his induction. Slash had announced a week ago that there was no way in the world they could all appear together as Axl hated his guts but for Axl to pull out all together seems rash. Maybe standing on stage next to his far more respected and successful former band mate was going to be too much for the bloated and surgically tweaked action man lead singer.
Rose wrote an open letter to the LA Times. Excerpts,
“I won’t be attending The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction 2012 ceremony, and I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N’ Roses to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. I strongly request that I not be inducted in absentia and please know that no-one is authorized, nor may anyone be permitted to accept any induction for me or speak on my behalf.
When the nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame were first announced I had mixed emotions but, in an effort to be positive, wanting to make the most of things for the fans and with their enthusiasm, I was honoured, excited and hoped that somehow this would be a good thing. Of course I realised as things stood, if Guns N’ Roses were to be inducted it’d be somewhat of a complicated or awkward situation.”
Well I certainly look forward to the Velvet Revolver on-stage reunion!

Axl shit happens in life. A little Patience to stand with your old friends for a few minutes to accept being in the Rock n roll hall of fame. During the peak and prime time of your youth created one of the best entertaining rock bands. You should be proud.
We all age. I’m 56, not like when I was 40 even. I changed friends often also. I looked like you at young age also. I had to run away from the girls.
Times change things change, this is life.
