This is the self titled debut album by the Brooklyn based 5 piece Fang Island that was released in 2010.
Fang Island consist of 3 guitarists, a bassist and a drummer and they have most definitely discovered the magic secret happy guitar tone and chords that will have you grinning like a Cheshire cat from the off.
The album literally starts with fireworks and shortly afterwards uplifting lyrics sung in choral vocals : “They are all within my reach, they are free!” and so the tone is set for the album.
The songs dip and weave from happy chord progression, to cracking guitar solos and choral vocals like a roller-coaster of joy, as is the case with stand out tracks ‘Careful Crossers’, the epically happy ‘Daisy’ and the mighty ‘Sideswiper’.
If ever there were an album for summer time, BBQ’s and drinking in the sun with friends this is it or for reminding you of these times in the cold dark winter.
The album leaves you feeling glad you were alive, reassured about any difficulties you may have in your life and with the belief that you could take on the world!
This truly is feel good music that should be experience by all and is described by Fang Island themselves as sounding like ‘Everyone high-fiving everyone’
