Fans have long been after the chance to get their hands on John Peel’s extensive record collection. Well from today they can do exactly that – well almost, they can take a glimpse of exactly what the great man had in his 25,000 strong LP collection and his notes on what he thought on particular albums.
John, who died in 2004, painstakingly hand typed track listings for every album in his collection and even annotated a number of album sleeves with his own views on certain tracks.
Every week 100 album sleeves and track listings will be uploaded. Each one individually scanned and will be available online for fans to scroll through during a tour around John’s virtual library.
Running alphabetically this week starts with A and includes such bands as; The A’s, AC/DC, A.G.E and ABBA.
As yet there is no music to stream along with the track listings but they are looking to do this in the future.
