Coinciding with their performance at this years Coachella festival, Yuck have released this little ditty into cyberspace. The English/American/Japanese combo have been touring incessantly for the past year and it’s a wonder that they found time to record this new track.
Fans of the band will be glad to hear that Chew isn’t a major departure from the usual lo-fi, grunge-esque style that they have been peddling over the last couple of years, whereas critics will accuse it of being derivative and sounding far too much like early nineties Americana and shoegaze. Well naysayers, just because something doesn’t break new ground, doesn’t make it a failure. This is a fine song and should be enjoyed for what it is, a great piece of effects laden, feedback drenched aural pleasure.
