It’s been nearly four years since Jason Pierce unleashed his last offering on the world and if this track is anything to go by, it has clearly been worth the wait.
Hey Jane could almost be seen as a typical Spiritualized album condensed into a single, nine minute opus. Starting with a few minutes of stomping garage blues, it breaks down in the middle, before returning to a driving beat and an uplifting gospel tinged climax. It’s everything you’d expect from a Spiritualized release, but still sounds fresh and leaves you aching for more.
The new album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light, is released on the 16th of April and if the rest of it is up to this standard, we are in for a treat.
