The Cribs are due to release new album (5th) “In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull” on May 7th which is a four year gap since their last album “Ignore The Ignorant“.
The reason according to guitarist Gary Jarman…… ; “We were just waiting for the ship (corporate indie) to sink”..
Which considering they compared the issue of the “corporate indie” bands to global warming isn’t a bad turn around..
“They want us to speak out about global warming but the biggest problem is the attitude of some indie bands. Isn’t that a bigger problem,”
In the small gap between albums they have parted with guitarist Johnny Marr , possibly due to the reunion rumoured to be going on with The Smiths , and frontman Ryan Jarman has been suffering with some psychological illness after a split up with his long-term partner Kate Nash, but time away has allowed them to “cleanse the palette” and are now hopefully back in business and ready to blow our shoes off.
The UK tour will be kicking off at Nottinghams Rock city on May 7th.
